Hey everyone,
I hope all is well. As this summer is going on and getting hotter, I just thought to go back to the basics of art itself and relax a bit. This year, my friend HD and myself are in the process of revamping Sankofa. For those of you who dont know about Sankofa, it’s a comic book that we are creating. Its mainly about a rebel group that is at war with their country’s government because of the negative control over the cities and villages. Stay tuned for updates on the project.
As for now, I am still doing freelance work and still looking for a design job. Its been hard, but I have been hanging in there. While job searching, freelancing, and creating a comic book, I am also going to be a leader for the sister branch of Xion network group that is originally based in Philadelphia. The sister branch is located in NYC. My partner in crime, Kia, and myself will be announcing the first meeting of the summer right along with upcoming events and challenges.
Just to let you guys know what Xion is: Xion comic artists group is a networking group for comic artists, writers, and comic enthusiasts. Created by local Philly artist, Shawn Alleyne, its to be considered as a haven to meet and hang out with other artists, network, go nuts over the whats new in the comic world, and most importantly get motivated.
